Here she talks about her experience of being an EVS volunteer based primarily in Refuge, but also supporting group work with children and young people.

My name is Anna, I am 19 years old and I was born in the South of Germany.I started my EVS placement in August 2016 and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am volunteering for an organization called Womens Aid, that provides all different kind of services for women and children that suffered from domestic violence. As EVS volunteer I have the best job in the whole organization I get to play with the kids all day. This includes planning my own activities such as baking and trips or preparing sessions about self esteem. EVS is a great opportunity to get to know a lot of new people and different cultures, but also to learn a lot about yourself. Northern Irish people would probably answer 'happy days', if they hear me talking about my placement and I can not think of a better description.
